Embedding Content into Moodle From YouTube

A step-by-step guide to embedding YouTube videos.

Step 1

Go to the YouTube video and click ‘SHARE’

Click embed

Open

This will bring up the embed code, click Copy

Step 2

Now log into Moodle, open your module and go to the topic where you want to embed the video.

With editing turned on, click Add an Activity or Resource.

Step 3

Choose Text and Media area and click to add.

Step 4

Click the show more options button (down arrow).

Step 5

Click HTML button. (Bottom right)

Step 6

Paste the code you copied from the video.

Open

Step 7

Change the alignment of the video to central.  

Open

Step 8

Click Save and return to course.

You should now see a box where the video will play within the course.
