Self Registration and Self Enrolment on YSJ Learn (external participants)

YSJ Learn is our learning platform set up for externally facing courses.

  • It is Moodle, and has many of the same activities, resources and plugins that are used in our main ‘internally facing’ Moodle platform, but with a different theme.

  • External participants are able to register for an account on YSJ Learn, and also self enrol onto a course by following the instructions below.

Do you have a YSJ IT account?
If so refer to this guide: Logging in to YSJ Learn (YSJ staff and students).

Note: Externals won’t be able to access this guide direct. Please copy any information required and provide it to the external participant via email.

 

To log in to YSJ Learn 

  1. Go to learn.yorksj.ac.uk. 

  2. Click log in. 

  3. Click Create new account. 

  4. Read and agree to YSJ Learn Terms and Conditions. 

  5. Fill in your details.  

  6. An email confirmation will be sent to your email address. 

  7. Click on the confirmation on the email and you will be able to sign in with the username and password you chose. 

Forgotten Password 

External participants can reset their own passwords by clicking the Lost password link and entering their email address. They will be sent a reset link by email which will allow them to update their password. 

Accessing courses

  1. Log in to learn.yorksj.ac.uk. 

  2. Search for your course in the Course search box in the top right of the screen or follow link in any sign-up information that has been provided. 

  3. Enter the enrolment key to join the course. The enrolment key is distributed by course leaders/administrators to learners by email.
